Upcoming Schedules (02/28/2013)

I just figured I'd address some things regarding videos that will be posted for the next few months at least. Primarily The Punchline, TV Trash, and the Dungeon Crawl stream. The Comic Strip Critic has a fairly big backlog of videos since he was doing a weekly video for awhile (He's doing them biweekly now I believe). Rowdy Reviewer is still doing videos weekly and has a much bigger backlog of videos. For these reasons we're posting multiple episodes of their videos per week. The Punchline has been posted Tuesdays and Fridays and will continue to be so until we've caught up to where he is in his own posting schedule. TV Trash however was being posted Monday and Thursday with one of Rowdy's Zelda Retrospectives on Saturdays, however all his current Zelda videos are up so with his huge backlog that Saturday spot will now be dedicated to a 3rd TV Trash episode per week. Last in regards to the Dungeon Crawl, no one really watches the recordings. So while Ozzie will continue to host the stream, the recordings won't be being posted.

The Reason the RU forums are no more (01/27/2013)

Some people may have been wondering for quite awhile why we no longer have our own personal forum. The short answer is that quite simply no one was using it. Not our fans, not our contributors (not even the ones who most claimed they wanted us to have an "active" forum population). The only people who posted more then once every two months were a handful of people who posted their own reviews in the section for promoting your own stuff and I find myself doubting they cared about the site outside of pimping their own stuff since they were still posting stuff longer after the link to the forum was gone. Meaning they had bookmarked the forum directly and were just going straight there to post their stuff. But for the long answer. Personally I've always been rather disappointed by how inactive forums are on these type of websites. Even on That Guy With the Glasses the forum seems rather dead outside of the sections dedicated to the more popular reviews and the sections to post your own stuff. Honestly Spoony's site is the only one I can name off the top of my head that sees a lot of activity in any of the sections outside of directly talking about the reviewer. Actually I find it kind of strange that his forum is more active then TGWTG which gets more traffic and is dedicated to more then just him. Which is a sad thing, the forums on sites like this get far less activity then the forums on sites with a much lower traffic rating. Which brings me to why we've partnered up with Philotix.net (Unleashed). They already have an active forum talking about many things related to Nerd/Geek Culture. Whether it be games, anime, etc. But also me and Arthur Knowledge are already good friends with everyone there. It is in actuality where we met after many of the forum members went there in response to policy changes on the City of Heroes forums. Why else did I decide to partner up with the Unleashed forums? Well... to be quite honest. Without Unleashed and the City of Heroes community... Reviewers Unknown probably wouldn't even exist. When I started out doing reviews myself, the CoH community and Unleashed were one of the few places I could get feedback because frankly no one in the reviewer community cared who I was at the time. And without already having Arthur on my side, I'm not sure I would have even had the confidence to go forward and ask Cartoon Hero and Gaming Pixie if they would want to be part of this site which at the time was just an idea in my head. Those who don't remember the 4 of us were basically all the site had when it started. So yeah, I guess what I'm saying is... please give the forum a chance if you haven't already. I know some people may not have joined before because there was a subforum for sharing porn (which is gone now for a completely unrelated reason). Because really, I post there on a regular basis and I'd love to see more of my fellow reviewers or fans of the site there. Your Admin Ozzie Arcane

Spam filter issues (12/11/2012)

For those who have posted comments on videos/articles lately and wondered why your comment didn't show up don't worry. We've had a slight problem with the spam blocker for the past few days and it has been flagging ALL comments as spam. It doesn't automatically delete them luckily and I have been going through and manually approving them. Not sure how we're going to address this yet but for the time being your comments will be posted even if it isn't immediately.
